Why happens to a rose bush that gets hit by a frost?

Our rose bush (not sure what variety) was getting it's spring leaves, but no rose buds yet. We have been experience colder then normal temperatures. For the last several days it has been in the 30's. I've noticed the leaves all look very wilted. Has our rose bush died? Will it come back when the temps turn warmer again?

If it has only gotten downto 30 then I doubt they have died. Keep an eye on it and it should pop back up when the warmer temperatures arrive.
Reply:Sounds like you live in michigan. like me. your going to hae to cut them back and start over with them if the leaves are brown then yea they died. you cant help that though. make sure when you cut them back though you do it the correct way down to a new growth or whatever the professionals call it.
Reply:Leave it alone, most likely will be ok, my roses are doing fine and it was 26 the last two days, have full foliage.
Reply:If there is no green leafs and looks dry out then probably not worth saving
